The 200 Mile Project
"The next time you do something crazy like run 100 miles, why don't you raise some money for a good cause." These were the words from a good friend Chris Hill after I completed the Leadville Trail 100 in 2009. Other friends asked, "What's next 200?" Well, here we are going to attempt a 200 mile solo effort in the 2010 Wild West Relay from Fort Collins to Steamboat. And yes, it's all about running to raise money for two great Northern Colorado foundations (GRIT Athletics and RAMSTRONG Foundation).
Passion for Life (Non-Profit Organization) in now on Facebook. Miles will be sold in block of 10 for the first 100. Miles 101-200 will then be sold individually, with landmark miles starting at 91-100 and every 10 miles after that. Mile 200 is the highest single mile donation you can make. Please remember, you do not have to sponsor miles to help. You are welcome to donate any amount you wish.
ALL CONTRIBUTIONS WILL BE DIVIDED BETWEEN TWO DESERVING NORTHERN COLORADO FOUNDATIONS, GRIT ATHLETICS, INC AND RAMSTRONG

Pacer Info
My Wild West Relay solo effort will get underway on August 5th at 1 am. Friends have shown a great deal of interest and have asked how they can help, which I immediately responded “by pacing.” However, a number of issues have recently surfaced while planning for this run. It now appears that we will have to limit the number of people out there on the course as part of the run.
So, here's the deal. I cannot have any pacers before Exchange 13 (Red Feather Lakes Rd) approximately 60 miles from the start. Once I am allowed pacers, each one has to sign a waiver that I will turn into the Wild West Relay Race Director. Additionally, due to different safety issues we can't have a lot of runners making a lot of stops and transitions from pacer to pacer. With that said, if you are willing and would like to run 13 miles or greater, please contact me and we'll set it up.
For those that were wanting to run a shorter distance, I'm really sorry. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your support and your “would have kicked butt” effort. Another way to help is by crewing/support with Megan (my wife). If you are interested, send a comment, e-mail (megsdustin@yahoo.com), or just give us a shout.
Again, thank you for your support.
Finally, I have been asked of where and how folks can donate. Here is the deal: Go to http://www.gritathletics.com/ , click on donate at the top right of their website. This will bring up a Donation to Passion for Life.
Questions? Give me a shout (970) 402-4186.

Route of WWR
Some of you have asked about the route the course takes to Steamboat during the Wild West Relay. Here is a map including + signs that indicate exchange points for teams involved in the Relay. If you are thinking of supporting in anyway and want more detailed maps, go to: http://www.wildwestrelay.com/maps/leg_maps/index.html
